Dear Young Friends in Christ,
To every young person, I extend a special invitation: recognise the important role you have in shaping the future of our nation. Your talents, education, creativity, energy, and faith can become powerful instruments for building a society where every person is respected and valued.
As followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to be the “salt of the earth” and the “light of the world” (Matthew 5:13–14). Christ teaches us the way of truth, selfless service, compassion, respect for human dignity, and love for all. Let these Gospel values guide your choices in your families, educational institutions, workplaces, communities, and society.
Our nation needs young people who are honest in their actions, responsible in their duties, respectful of diversity, courageous in defending justice, and committed to peace and harmony. Let your faith inspire you to stand with the poor and marginalised, care for creation, promote unity, and become a voice of hope wherever you are.
True patriotism is expressed not only through words, but through responsible citizenship and service. Use your talents not merely for personal success, but also for the good of others. Let your achievements uplift those around you, and let your leadership always be rooted in humility, compassion, and service.
In a world often affected by division, selfishness, and indifference, may you become witnesses of Christ's love and messengers of hope. Have the courage to choose what is right, the compassion to stand beside those who suffer, and the faith to believe that your life can make a difference.
As we celebrate the freedom of our beloved nation, let us thank God for the gift of India and pray for its continued peace, unity, progress, and prosperity.
May the Blessed Virgin Mary accompany and protect you, and may Jesus Christ strengthen you to become faithful disciples, responsible citizens, and courageous young leaders committed to building a better Church and a better nation.

The Potential of Youth: A Gift to the Church and the Nation
“Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity.” (1 Timothy 4:12)
The youth of today possess immense potential—creative minds to innovate, compassionate hearts to heal, energetic spirits to serve, and strong faith to renew the Church. When these gifts are rooted in Gospel values, young people can become powerful instruments of transformation in the Church and society.
In a world marked by many challenges, young people are called to be ambassadors of hope, builders of peace, defenders of human dignity, and joyful witnesses of Christ. They are invited to use their talents and technology responsibly, care for creation, serve those in need, and promote justice, unity, and reconciliation.
As Pope Francis reminds us, “Young people are the now of God.” They are not spectators in the mission of the Church, but active disciples and missionaries. The Church is called to accompany them, strengthen their faith, and help them discover and joyfully live their God-given vocation.

Regional Youth Convention celebrating faith, fellowship and youth leadership.
RegisterRISE’25, the 10th Regional Youth Convention, was organised by the TCBC Commission for Youth from 11–14 January 2025 at St. Theresa’s Girls High School, Sanathnagar, Hyderabad. The convention brought together over 1,000 Catholic youth from across the Telugu region for four days of faith, fellowship, formation and spiritual renewal. Inspired by the theme “Those who hope in the Lord, walk without becoming weary” (Isaiah 40:31) and the tagline “Empowered by Hope, United in Faith,” RISE’25 offered young people opportunities for prayer, Holy Eucharist, Eucharistic Adoration, inspiring sessions, leadership formation, cultural celebrations and fellowship. RISE’25 became a significant milestone in the journey of the Telugu Catholic youth, renewing their call to remain rooted in Christ, united in faith and committed to the mission of the Church.
JWALA 2025 – Regional Youth Fest JWALA 2025, the Regional Youth Fest organised by the TCBC Commission for Youth, was held from 11–14 December 2025 at Mariagiri Shrine in the Diocese of Srikakulam. Around 800 Catholic youth from across the Telugu-speaking dioceses came together for a vibrant celebration of faith, fellowship, leadership and unity. The gathering brought together the Youth Jubilee, 67th Regional Youth Elections, sports and cultural celebrations, along with opportunities for prayer, faith formation and leadership development. Centred on Christ, JWALA 2025 encouraged young people to live their faith joyfully and become responsible leaders and committed disciples in the Church and society. JWALA 2025 became a living flame of faith, hope and unity, inspiring young hearts to grow in Christ and carry the light of the Gospel into the world.
